Twohy has an enticing patience that allows you to get accustomed to Riddick’s and the methodical ways he copes with it”
      -Kyle Smith, NY POST

“Vin Diesel’s futuristic fugitive Richard B. Riddick gets his lean, mean, R-rated mojo back for RIDDICK… very enjoyable… recaptures much of the stripped-down intensity of Diesel and director David Twohy’s franchise starter PITCH BLACK… a sleeker, more accomplished, but no less enjoyable PITCH BLACK remake… Twohy, who has become a markedly more confident filmmaker with each successive pic… has a grand hold time… Diesel cuts a most imposing figure… with an acerbic with that keeps things light without ever approaching the cutesy. … the camera unmistakably loves him.”
      - Scott Foundas, VARIETY

“..best outing…it’s a return to form: It puts Diesel’s lean, mean sociopath back in his comfort zone….Riddick is a return to the tone and scope of the Alien-esque PITCH BLACK…very solid comeback..”
      -Michael Sauter, FILM JOURNAL INTERNATIONAL

“Action addicts will enjoy this sci-fi sequel.”
      - Matt Sullivan, IN TOUCH

“A heart-stopper finale caps the summer’s most thrilling surprise.”
      - Michael Sauter, LIFE & STYLE

“RIDDICK keeps the franchise on track with great action…”
      - Kevin Clark, VIBE

“… a terrific, mostly dialogue-free 20-minute opening during which Riddick acclimates to his new surroundings. Watching this see-in-the-dark muscleman brooding against gorgeous otherworldly vistas… is a sci-fi aficionado’s delight.”
      - Keith Uhlich, TIMEOUT NY

“RIDDICK can be cheesy and silly, not to mention excessively violent, but it’s also fun. The story moves quickly along, and even when the outcome is plain, the journey remains entertaining.”
      - Stephanie Merry, THE WASHINGTON POST

“… it’s fun! The opening half-hour of Twohy’s picture is a grabber… More persuasively than the recent AFTER EARTH and OBLIVION, RIDDICK makes an entertaining survival-guide virtue of its main character’s isolation.”
      - Michael Phillips, CHICAGO TRIBUNE

“‘RIDDICK’ is ultimately more successful and enjoyable than most of this past summer’s big blockbusters.”
-Jeffrey M. Anderson, SAN FRANCISCO EXAMINER

      “…imagery is quite remarkable.”
      -Doug Wright, DESERET NEWS

      “Riddick’s return a fun, action-packed ride.”
      - TORONTO STAR

“Vin Diesel once again imbues Riddick with his trademark deadpan style and, as usual, it works. Jordi Molla attacks the role of the nasty Santana with particular relish… The CGI-created landscape is impressively rendered and detailed, there are loads of cool gadgetry and, of course, plenty of action… fans of Riddick will be more than pleased to go along for the ride.”
      - Bruce DeMara, TORONTO STAR

“… a thrilling and almost wordless opening, in which Riddick takes on inventively designed creatures… David Twohy’s RIDDICK script has a wicked sense of humor… Jordi Molla is wickedly funny... Twohy doles out the action scenes expertly, each revealing a new dimension of Riddick’s cunning…”
      - Chris Hewitt, ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS

“RIDDICK… a relatively bright note after a summer of disappointing genre films. David Twohy… knows his way around an action sequence, and how to build tension before the movie’s big, often spectacularly bloody reveals.”
      - Peter Suderman, WASHINGTON TIMES

“Diesel embodies Riddick in the way he seems so single-minded about this goals. His characters are driven by simple needs and an absolute refusal to let anyone stand between him and whatever it is he wants. … I enjoyed it greatly.”

“David Twohy's ‘Riddick’ proves once again that there are few working filmmakers who understand or appreciate pure pulp as much as he does.”

“RIDDICK is a larger-than-life badass anti-hero, and he's back to doing what he does best in this film: killing everything else in the film. Throw in Katee Sackhoff as a hot badass and a CGI killer space puppy, and you've got a winning combination.”

“Vin Diesel snarls and scowls his way through the film, playing to his strengths, and looks like he's having a blast even when repairing his own broken limbs.”

“RIDDICK is much closer to the first film in the series, PITCH BLACK …the focus is exactly where it belongs: mayhem and monsters.”

      “RIDDICK is a winner.”
      - Drew McWeeny, HITFIX.COM

“Pardon my French, but RIDDICK is f*king awesome! He’s back and better than ever….I’m glad that RIDDICK has brought this franchise back to R, back to the way it should be, back to darkness, allowing Vin Diesel to unleash the one character that his fans have been dying to see again and make him this year’s ultimate badass….you do not want to f*ck with Diesel when he’s Richard B. RIDDICK…the term ‘made for fans’ doesn’t’ get truer than this. This is one smartly written thriller.”
      -Rama Tampubolon, RAMASCREEN.COM

“RIDDICK is back to being a hard-R and is very much… larger than life guns and testosterone… Diesel was born to play this role… This is no question that Riddick is going to have everything go his way at every turn and that is what makes this romp just pure fun, a ride.”
      - Kelly Michael Stewart, FANGORIA.COM

“…an absolute blast of entertainment. The incredible stunt work on display must also be mentioned…what Diesel has absolutely captured with Riddick is that sense that he is the baddest man on the planet. Riddick is exactly the movie fans of the character wanted, and it’s precisely the shot in the arm the series needed. Riddick is violent, straight-forward, and satisfying to fans of impressive sci-fi action.”
      -Jeremy Kirk, FIRSTSHOWING.NET

“..many fans of the character will find themselves cheering during the final twenty minutes of the film when they see Riddick perform such outrageous feats like take on a whole mountain of slimy aliens.”
      -Michael Haffner, WEAREMOVIEGEEKS.COM

“…quite simply a whole lot of sweaty genre fun...Twohy’s commitment to combining action, adventure, horror, and science fiction is something any genre fan should appreciate.”
      -Scott Weinberg, FEARNET.COM

“Riddick delivers a film for its fans that has been a long time coming…for audiences who adore Diesel as the otherworldly man who kicks some serious ass…this is a film that is quite like a return to form…And it also plays up the very reason we enjoyed the series in the first place: Vin Diesel is Riddick. Period.”
      -Joel Amos, MOVIEFANATIC.COM

“.lean and mean science fiction fueled action.”
      -Nick Nunziata, CHUD.COM

“..Diesel’s dark, badass antihero is back and this time the gloves are off. Katee Sackhoff is a ton of fun as a hard-nosed badass merc who has no problem flogging dudes that step over the line with her. Diesel sells all of Riddick’s one-liners and broody monologues very well and they are definitely one of the highlights of the film…with his unique look and gravely voice, this is a character he’s perfectly well-suited play. Riddick is hard-R, budget science fiction of old, reminiscent of the early classics by James Cameron and John Carpenter. The movie is very well shot with some great vistas, landscapes, and imagery that’s evocative of classic sci-fi novel covers and artwork. With Vin Diesel having renewed his super-stardom and a story that’s returned to its roots hopefully we can now see the path of Riddick continue…Riddick is a very well made, entertaining, hard-R, budget sci-fi movie. This is a nice return to the style of storytelling that made Pitch Black such a cool film… one can hope it won’t be another 10 years before Diesel gets to play this role again.”
      -Jeffrey Harris, 411MANIA.COM

“Riddick will have no problem pleasing longtime fans of the series while also delivering an accessible and entertaining sci-fi action experience for casual moviegoers…Riddick’s abrasive and lethal personality is a part of the fun – and has always been what sets the character apart from comparable Hollywood heroes…an intriguing three-act structure that keeps the plot tight and engaging…this version of Riddick is the most interesting, honest, and outright believable of the series – making him even more terrifying (and at times humorous) than ever before. The supporting cast is a solid roster of characters that make for appealing Riddick fodder. Katee Sackhoff gives a welcome does of girl power in to the team as Dahl. Dave Bautista is another standout. A formidable presence with surprisingly keen comedic timing, Bautista offers slick fisticuffs as well as several big laughs…Riddick also delivers plenty of solid action set pieces that mix practical and digital effects. Riddick offers a solid action-horror experience. A more experienced performance from Vin Diesel helps transition Riddick from an over-the-top action hero into a fully realized character that is actually capable of sustaining a quality film franchise… the lastest series installment should have no problem drawing in non-fans too.”
      -Ben Kendrick, SCREENRANT.COM

“Getting back to basics was a great move here…it allows us to see him in a different light. Vin Diesel, having obviously invested in this character, gives it his all. This is the Riddick we deserve.”
      -Josh Hylton, DARKHORIZONS.COM

“..it breathes new life into the series. Diesel remains the straw that stirs the drink, as always. Twohy, for his part, is still the best-kept secret in science-fiction filmmaking…”
      - Rob Vaux, MANIA.COM

“..it’s always fun to watch, especially when Riddick outwits his pursuers…you can sense Diesel’s genuine love for the character throughout. Twohy and Diesel choose to take the character back to his stripped down roots.”
      - Alan Cerny, AINTITCOOL.COM

“Riddick wisely takes things back down a notch, returning to Pitch Black’s simple formula of scary creatures, scarier humans, and a barren planet…”
      - Eric D Snider, TWITCHFILM.COM

“RIDDICK is a great treat for any fan of R-rated sci-fi action. Dave Bautista is given some great one-liners as Diaz. It’s definitely a breakout film role for him and I look forward to seeing him in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY now. RIDDICK is essentially CONAN THE BARBARIAN in space. He’s tough, violent, and loves the ladies. If that at all sounds appealing to you, then you’ll want to see this film on the big screen. If you liked the previous RIDDICK
movies or if you’re simply in the mood for old school, bloody sci-fi, then this film is worth checking out on the big screen.”
      - Scott Chitwood, COMINGSOON.NET

“It’s good to see him – moreover Vin Diesel – doing what he does best. The love bestowed upon this universe by both writer-director David Twohy and Vin Diesel is apparent. The creature designs are awesome and the action is a lot of fun. Riddick, to me, is cool again. … he’s certainly earned it back with this film.”
      - Ryan Turek, SHOCKTILLYOUDROP.COM

“… a fun, nimble script and dynamic supporting cast. … Twohy wrings the maximum amount of suspense out of his set-pieces… The film also succeeds as an action showcase for Diesel. With his macho exterior and rumbling growl, Diesel has always been a fun actor to watch… handling him some jaw-dropping action sequences and a plethora of funny one-liners. … RIDDICK knows what it wants to be, and it largely accomplishes its goals with energy, efficiency and great clarity of purpose. … it appears that the best adventures for the character may be yet to come. RIDDICK certainly has him off to a strong start.”
      - Isaac Feldberg, WEGOTTHISCOVERED.COM

“RIDDICK blurred the lines between good and evil for an electrifying movie experience.”
      - Xilla Valentine, GLOBALGRIND.COM

“The movie opens in an awesomely film noir-y way … Riddick is… back to becoming a grade-A bad-ass.
      - Drew Taylor, INDIEWIRE.COM / THE PLAYLIST

“… the mostly-silent prelude is RIDDICK’s best material. Diesel carries the weight of the methodical, CG-assisted world-building like Atlas.”
      - Matt Patches, FILM.COM

“Diesel, Twohy and the rest of the gang from RIDDICK really delivered on their promises to the fans out there, giving us another stunning action-packed horror/sci-fi adventure… feels exactly like the kind of movie I would have spent my summer watching at the drive-in as a kid and there’s something to be said for a movie that feels new and yet also feels like it has classic 80’s sci-fi DNA coursing through tis veins. … for those of you who think this latest film is going to be a rehash, watch a little more closely and you’ll notice Twohy and Diesel are not only breaking down and reconstructing their iconic character after their last venture but they’re also expertly expanding the mythology of this universe at the same time – no easy feat. The film itself also manages to breeze easily between moments of action, horror and humor… Diesel’s back on screen with an infectious enthusiasm that you can’t help but be drawn into… RIDDICK looks pretty spectacular… With its sci-fi-loving heart in the right place, RIDDICK is just a total blast… long-time fans of this series will go home happy… Twohy and Diesel’s truly infectious admiration and respect for this character and this world will undoubtedly win you over. … it’s everything I was hoping for as a fan and my fingers are crossed for more from these guys.”
      - thehorrorchick, DREADCENTRAL.COM

“The first third of the movie is like Vin Diesel’s take on the opening of THERE WILL BE BLOOD… It’s actually great… and director David Twohy shines in this bit, using clean, economical action storytelling. There’s a lot of action in RIDDICK.”
      - Devin Faraci, BADASSDIGEST.COM

      “RIDDICK is simply badass.”
      - CRAVEONLINE.COM

“… honest with its intentions, consistently entertaining, and a welcome change of pace… Riddick simply ‘is’, and RIDDICK is simply badass.”
      - William Bibbiani, CRAVEONLINE.COM

“… the actor is perfect for the character and the character is perfect for this movie. Here’s a badass with little to say other than ‘get out of my and let me handle my business.’ That’s Diesel – and RIDDICK.”
      - Eric Walkuski, JOBLO.COM

“… this semi-independent production has a clear voice of authorship and vision that’s lacking from most summer blockbusters. …it’s also pure Vin Diesel. A force of nature and optimism that emerged from humble beginnings to become one of our most interesting action stars, it would be unwise to underestimate him. The same goes for this film.”
      - Evan Dickson, BLOODYDISGUSTING.COM

“Leave it to Vin Diesel to start and finish the summer with the most enjoyable blockbusters of the year.”
      - Shontel Horne, THELOOP21.COM

      “A must see this summer.”

“An action-packed, sci-fi thriller that you don’t want to miss.”
      - Patrick Buchanan, THATGRAPEJUICE.COM

“Awesome. Violent. Funny… Had a blast.”

“If fans loved the first one, they’ll really enjoy this.”
      - Ryan Turek, SHOCKTILLYOUDROP.COM

“The latest RIDDICK is the greatest… Vin Diesel does it again.”

      “RIDDICK rocks!”

      “Katee Sackhoff sizzles.”

“One hell of a thrill ride.”

      “Explosive suspense!”
      - Joel D. Amos, MOVIEFANATIC.COM

“A fast and furious sci-fi extravaganza.”
      - Fred Topel, CRAVEONLINE.COM

“If there is anyone who can survive being left on a desolate and dangerous planet, it’s Vin Diesel.”

      “Spectacular on-screen performance.”

      “Riveting action-packed fight sequences.”

“Takes you on a journey that is absolutely out of this world.”
      - Mike Melendy, ROLLING OUT

      “A total blast.”

“Great continuation of the franchise that made me want more.”

      “The visuals were stunning.”

“Vin was badass as always and the action/gore delivered everything I was hoping for!”

      - R.C Samo, FANBOYNATION.COM

      “RIDDICK is f*cking awesome!”

“RIDDICK is back and better than ever.”

“Vin Diesel is this year’s ultimate badass. Nobody messes with Diesel.”
      - Rama, RAMA’S SCREEN

“Loved RIDDICK. It was absolutely everything that I wanted it to be, with bad-ass action, hard-R violence and funny one-liners.”

    • Vin Diesel: DARUM kommt "erst jetzt!Riddick 3"
